Every day I have the privilege of watching the birds and squirrels at our feeder just outside our dining room window. This was the year of the Stellar Jay, and countless Northern Flickers, all vying for the suet. The Chickadees are small, fidgety, and amusing to watch. I mustn’t forget the Nuthatches, fast as arrows, and amazing acrobats. This year we had Fox Sparrows and I managed to catch a Female Downy with my camera. Fox Sparrows are seldom seen at bird feeders, but I don’t doubt that the weather and heavy snow contributed to their staying around. I never get bored while watching them. Did I forget to mention our resident Red Squirrel? I did a painting of him this year. Check out my artwork.
